USA Pony Club

We are proud to announce we have become certified as a hunter jumper equitation Pony club. Pony Club is the largest equestrian educational organization in the world. It is a nationally recognized curriculum and a standardized way of testing an equestrians knowledge. It is a wonderful way to become a well rounded member of the equestrian community. The cornerstones of Pony Club foundation are education, safety, sportsmanship, stewardship and FUN. Members learn riding and the care of horses through mounted sports. The skills, habits and values instilled through horsemanship will apply to every part of a member’s life.

The United States Pony Clubs, Inc., develops character, leadership, confidence and a sense of community in youth through a program that teaches the care of horses and ponies, riding and mounted sports.

Unmounted members are required to attend ONE (1) unmounted meeting per month within a calendar year.

Members are taught the Standards of Proficiency (SOP). Each member progresses in their skills and knowledge at a pace appropriate for them. Members set their own certification goals along with guidance from the AAH trainers. Check-lists are available based on the different sections of the SOP to assist members in assessing their readiness and confidence to be evaluated.

All meetings will be hosted and provided by All About Horses OC. A yearly schedule will be provided at the beginning of the calendar year and available on our website. Meetings will be held in either of our two facilities depending on the nature of the lessons. A member may use their own horse for mounted meetings otherwise, members will be provided a lesson horse for meetings and testing. If a meeting is missed there will be notes available per email request. There are no refunds for missed lessons.

Testing Fees: $100-$250 (per certification event)
*fees subject to change and will be announced before sign up

Local certification testing will be offered at least twice a year depending on the need of the club overall. A minimum number of testers will be required per testing event.  After the D-1 (beginning) level certification, a member may progress through the horse management levels, learning horse care and maintenance without continuing to ride if they choose.  A member must achieve certification in horse management before proceeding to the next riding level certification. Members may choose to hold riding certifications in one or more of the offered riding tracks – Traditional (Eventing), Dressage, Hunter Seat Equitation, and Western. Multiple certification tests can be performed on the same day in some cases. A member may use their own horse for testing, otherwise a lesson horse will be provided.
